Clinical Pediatric Neuropsychologist 

Job Description

CNS only provides assessment and consultation services and our clinician to admin staff support is 2 to 1.  We are seeking a candidates who are:

Developmental Psychologist – Developmental Assessment Clinic

We are pleased to announce an immediate opening for a full-time Developmental Psychologist.  The developmental psychologist will primarily provide evaluations for our youngest patients, ages 2-6, who typically present with complex needs and are referred by medical practices and regional hospitals.  Experience and interest in conducting assessments focused on defining or ruling our neurodevelopmental disorders, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorder, is required.  The clinician will play a significant role in running and expanding CNS’s Developmental Assessment Clinic, and have the opportunity to see a diverse range of presenting cases and age ranges depending on interest and expertise.  Children’s Neuropsychological Services was founded in 2001.  Our staff is comprised of leading clinicians in the Boston area, who expand their clinical roles through training, team building with area treatment providers and schools, and participation in neuropsychological organizations such as MNS. 

Candidates must have completed a doctoral degree in clinical or school psychology from an APA/CPA accredited program and an APA/CPA accredited pre-doctoral internship. Prior to the start date, the candidate must have also completed a formal two-year postdoctoral fellowship or equivalent in pediatric or developmental neuropsychology, and be licensed or license eligible in the State of Massachusetts. Starting base salary range is $125,000-$225,000 depending on experience.  Additional salary is available through a rolling bonus structure.

Neuropsychology Technician

Job Description: This position provides a unique opportunity to participate in the field of pediatric neuropsychology. Duties encompass aspects of neuropsychological assessment, including rapport building, clinical interviewing, standardized testing and scoring, behavioral observation, case formulation and aspects of report writing. After demonstrating competency and mastery of a broad range of neuropsychological measures, your clinic days which are consistent across weeks will be assigned. You will have the opportunity to work with multiple CNS clinicians who will be directly responsible for supervising and guiding your work. A typical clinic day will consist of 3-6 hours of testing and scoring, generation of test result sections, and additional aspects of data gathering and report writing. Supervisors will continuously work with you to build on your clinical interview, observation, behavioral management, and test administration skills. In addition, you will be trained to effectively identify brain-based functional strengths and weaknesses. Participation in the process of diagnostic formulation will also be available.

Appropriate Candidates: A curriculum vitae that illustrates a desire to help and support children and adolescents, strong work ethic, motivation to learn, solid writing skills, and test administration experience will be prioritized. Additionally, this position will likely require a combination of attention to detail, ability to learn and ask questions and a desire to work with children and adolescents.

Hours: This position requires a commitment of at least 2 clinic days. 8 hours is typically required to meet the demands of a single clinic day. Your assigned clinic days will stay consistent throughout the year.

School Psychologist

Job description: Children’s Neuropsychological Services, LLC (CNS) is seeking a School Psychologist to complete a range of cognitive, educational, and neuropsychological assessments, as well as portions of written evaluation in collaboration with team members. Applicants should possess the following skills; mastery of a range of standardized instruments commonly used to assess brain-based, learning, and emotional functions in children and adolescents, ability to communicate clearly in both written and oral forms, the ability to describe the tools used by psychologists to parties outside the discipline, such as explaining tests/measures, why certain tests may be chosen, and how different measures can be compared/contrasted.

Applicants should have comfort advocating for data-driven decision making, designing data collection systems, and training peers on implementing such systems. Within the testing and assessment process, applicants should be comfortable incorporating data from a variety of sources. Applicants should be comfortable with and skilled at multidisciplinary collaboration, family engagement, and partnering with parties who share differing perspectives.

Essential duties and responsibilities include – Testing/Assessment: Complete comprehensive psycho-educational assessments that cover domains pertinent to school functioning: cognitive, academic, social/emotional, behavioral, adaptive behavior, sensory/motor, and other factors pertinent to the child or adolescents learning capacity. Applicants should have a solid knowledge of frequently used tests and measures and an openness to learning new measures and workshopping creative test battery solutions. Applicants should have a strong ability to interpret assessment findings. If the need arises, virtual assessment may be required.

Minimum qualifications: A Master’s Degree or higher in psychology or related field is mandatory. National Certification in School Psychology (NCSP) is strongly preferred. Must have training and experience working with children and adolescents.

We anticipate this position to begin in early 2023. CNS provides assessment services to over 1000 children and adolescents each year. This position is ideal for a professional looking to work full or part time in a dynamic work environment that is staffed by a an outstanding administrative and clinical team.
